Activate a device or become a reseller
Customers — activate your device
You don’t need an account. Install StrataTuner, open it and it shows a Device ID and a short code. Give either to your reseller and the app unlocks by itself within seconds — as a free trial of 1–7 days, for a year, or for life.
Don’t have a reseller? Direct activation with online payment is coming soon — check back here.

Sell StrataTuner activations to your own customers: activate devices by Device ID or code, load playlists onto them remotely, keep customer notes, give free trials, and build a team of sub-resellers. Credits: 1 = annual, 2 = lifetime.
Create an account and a login is emailed to you straight away; your account is approved before you can activate devices.

What StrataTuner is — and isn’t
StrataTuner is a media player app built for televisions and remote controls first, with the same experience on Android phones and tablets. You add a playlist from your own provider — an Xtream Codes login (server, username, password) or an M3U link — and StrataTuner organises it into live channels with a programme guide, films and series with artwork and details, favourites, groups and search.
It is distributed through resellers: a reseller activates your device for a year or for life, and can load your playlist onto the device for you so there is nothing to type on the TV. You can always add your own playlists too.
StrataTuner is only a player. It ships with no channels, no films, no series and no playlists. We don’t know what you play with it, we don’t have access to your playlists, and we cannot help you find, buy or fix one — that is between you and your provider. We do not endorse or recommend any provider.
If a playlist won’t load, shows an error such as HTTP 403, 451 or 884, freezes or has missing channels, the cause is on the provider’s side (expired line, disabled M3U downloads, connection limits, geo-restrictions). Contact your provider.

Multi-view & picture-in-picture
Watch several channels at once, or keep a channel playing in a corner while you use other apps.
Recordings & reminders
Record now or schedule from the guide; set reminders for programmes. Recordings are stored on your device.
Themes & layout
Background and highlight colours, transparency, font and tile sizes, which sections to show, group ordering and renaming.

First start
The app shows a Device ID and a code. Pass either to your reseller to activate the device (free trials of 1–7 days are available at the reseller’s discretion). Once activated, add your provider’s Xtream login or M3U link — or your reseller may already have loaded it for you. Updates arrive inside the app; you’ll be asked before anything installs.
Frequently asked questions
Content & playlists
Does StrataTuner include any channels, films or series? Where do I get a playlist?
No. StrataTuner is a player and contains no content of any kind. We do not sell, provide, recommend or help you find playlists, and we have no access to the playlists you add. Please don’t activate the app unless you already have a playlist from a provider you are entitled to use — nothing is included with an activation, and activations are not refundable.
Which playlist formats work?
Xtream Codes (a server address, username and password) and M3U / M3U Plus links. Xtream is recommended: it gives you the guide, posters, series and catch-up information. Some providers switch off M3U downloads for their lines (you then see errors such as HTTP 884 or 403) — use the Xtream login they gave you instead.
My playlist won’t open, freezes, buffers or shows “HTTP 451 / 403 / 884”.
These responses come from your provider’s server, not from StrataTuner. 451 and 403 typically mean the line is expired, disabled, over its connection limit or not allowed from your location; 884 means M3U downloads are disabled. Check the line still works, that you’re not using it on more devices than allowed, and contact your provider. For privacy reasons we cannot see your playlist and cannot help with it.
Is there an EPG / TV guide?
Yes — StrataTuner has a full guide grid and now/next information. The programme data itself comes from your provider (Xtream EPG or an XMLTV link). If your provider has no EPG, the guide will be empty for those channels.
Can I use more than one playlist?
Yes. Add as many as you like and switch between them in Settings → Playlists. Playlists loaded by your reseller are marked “From your provider” and can only be changed by them; your own can be edited or removed any time.
The playlist works on my computer but not on the TV.
Usually one of: the TV is on a different network or connection (some providers lock a line to one ISP or IP), the line is already in use on another device, or the stream format isn’t supported by that TV’s hardware decoder — try Settings → Playback → Video decoder → Software, or a different stream format in the playlist settings.
Activation, device ID & resellers
How does activation work?
On first start the app shows a Device ID (in the form AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF) and a short 8-character code. Give either to your reseller. They activate the device from their portal — a free trial of 1 to 7 days, one year, or lifetime — and the app unlocks by itself within a few seconds (or press “Check again”). You don’t need an account or a password.
What do annual and lifetime mean? Is there a trial?
An annual activation covers the app on that device for 12 months; lifetime never expires. Resellers can offer one free trial per device of 1–7 days. Prices and payment are set by your reseller. Activation only covers the app — no content is included — and activations cannot be refunded.
My Device ID changed / I got a new box. Can I move my activation?
The Device ID is tied to the app installation on that device. Your reseller can request a licence move to your replacement device from their portal; StrataTuner approves it and no credits are charged. If you reinstall the app on the same device, it usually registers as a new device — tell your reseller the new ID.
What does “Contact your reseller” mean? Who is my reseller?
It means the device isn’t activated yet, or the activation has expired or been revoked. Your reseller is whoever supplied StrataTuner to you; if they left contact details, they appear on that screen.
How do I become a reseller?
Use “Create a reseller account” on the portal sign-in page. You’ll receive a login by email; StrataTuner approves your account, after which you buy credits (1 credit = annual, 2 credits = lifetime), activate devices, load playlists onto customers’ devices, keep notes on customers and create sub-resellers of your own. Resellers must only activate devices for customers who are entitled to the content they intend to play.
Can my reseller see what I watch?
No. The app only reports its device ID, app version, platform and the fact that it is online. Your reseller can see whether your device is active and which playlists they loaded onto it; they cannot see playlists you added yourself, what you watch, or your viewing history.
Using the app
How do I record or set a reminder?
While watching, open the info banner and choose Record; or in the TV Guide, select a programme and pick Record or Remind. Recordings are saved to the device’s storage and listed under Recordings. Whether a channel can be recorded depends on your provider’s stream.
How do multi-view and picture-in-picture work?
Multi-view is on the top bar: pick several channels at once and choose which one you hear. Picture-in-picture: enable “Switch to picture-in-picture on Home” in Settings → General, then press Home while watching.
Can I change the look of the app?
Settings → Appearance: eight background colours, ten highlight colours, transparency, font size, tile size, carousel or grid layout, which sections (Live, Movies, Series) are shown, and group ordering and renaming. Settings open as a side panel so your channel keeps playing while you adjust things.
Where are the parental controls?
Settings → Parental controls. Set a PIN, then choose what it protects: adult groups, individual groups, or the settings themselves.
How do I back up and restore my settings and playlists?
Settings → General → Back up data saves a password-protected file to Downloads; Restore data reads it back — on the same device or a new one. Your reseller-loaded playlists aren’t in the backup; they return when the new device is activated.
How do updates work?
The app checks for new versions itself and shows what’s new. Nothing is installed without you pressing Install. If you’d rather, you can always download the latest version from the Install section above.
The remote’s voice button opens the TV’s own assistant instead of the app search.
Use the microphone button next to the search box in the app — it listens inside StrataTuner. Some remotes send their voice key straight to the system; Settings → Remote control lets you map keys.
Pressing Back closes the whole app.
By default Back steps out of the current screen; from the home screen a second press asks before exiting. Settings → General → “Exit app” gives you a dedicated exit, and you can switch off the confirmation if you prefer.
Privacy & legal
What data does StrataTuner collect?
Very little: a random device identifier, platform and app version, and an activation status check. Playlist logins a reseller loads for you are stored encrypted and sent only to your device. We don’t collect viewing history, don’t run adverts and don’t sell data. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Is StrataTuner legal?
The app is a general-purpose media player, like VLC or Kodi. What you play with it is your responsibility: it is legal to play content you are entitled to, and illegal to stream copyrighted content without authorisation. See the Terms of Use.
I’m a rights holder and believe StrataTuner is being used to infringe my content.
StrataTuner hosts no content, but we take notices seriously. Please use the process in our Copyright policy.
